On 24 August 2026, the Hong Kong Financial Services Delegation for Financial Development in Shanghai and Hangzhou visited Shanghai Clearing House (SHCH). The delegation was led by Mr. Robert Lee Wai-wang, member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR, Chairman of Grand Finance Group Company Limited and member of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Mr. Liu Min, Chairman of BOCI, Acting President of the Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong (HKCSA) and Vice President of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association; and Mr.Tan Yueheng, Member of the CPPCC National Committee and Permanent Honorary President of HKCSA. Mr. Ma Jianyang, Chairman of SHCH, hosted the meeting, with Mr. Huang Ning, Deputy General Manager of SHCH, also in attendance.

 

SHCH briefed the delegation on its business operations, as well as close cooperation with Hong Kong institutions in areas such as Swap Connect, Bond Connect and cross-border regulatory recognition. Both sides discussed topics including facilitating participation of Hong Kong institutions in SHCH’s services, deepening the connectivity of financial market infrastructures, and enhancing exchanges between the Shanghai and Hong Kong financial markets. The two sides agreed to further deepen financial cooperation, explore the development of offshore RMB market in Hong Kong, and advance RMB internationalization.
